Police force plates
Physical education and sports competitions were an integral part of the training and indoctrination of the new police force in the Third Reich under the Reichsführer-SS, Heinrich Himmler. Sport and physical training were the prerequisites for the SS’s plan to clarify the claim to the men’s race.
The various sports competitions with their pre-competitions were very popular with the police forces and ensured that only the best of them could compete. These competitions were held until the beginning of World War II in September 1939.
Himmler’s decree in 1937 banned metal awards and gifts. From August 1937, the police plates for Himmler were made in the Allach porcelain factory in Dachau.
Regardless of the competition, a high-quality police badge from the Third Reich was made in the middle of each of these plates.
The police eagle badges were either bisque or glazed porcelain.
