The Yule candle holder of the porcelain manufactory Allach

The Yule candle holder was manufactured from the beginning of the existence of the porcelain manufactory Allach-Munich GmbH until its end in 1945 in many designs.

The Yule candle holder was issued starting from 1935, first to SS leaders, as a gift of the Reichsfuhrer, Heinrich Himmler, together with a document-like supplement with facsimile signature of Heinrich Himmler. The accompanying letter will comment on the intended use during the night of 31 December to 1 January. Later correspondence letters are addressed “To my SS comrades!”, team members and leaders.

The Jul candle holder is the object with the Allach runes, which was produced and systematically distributed in the largest number of pieces. Heinrich Himmler wanted to introduce with it a new tradition, explained on a supplement, for the turn of the year, as well as for life celebrations during the year, and thus create a rule within the new world-view. How important it was to him shows the continuation of the sending of Yule candle holder with a cover letter, even until the turn of the year 1944/45, to regularly remind the recipient and his family members of the custom of the Schutzstaffel.
