Cavalry Tiles by Meissen

by | Feb 5, 2018

At the exhibition “German Art and the SS”, which was shown first in Breslau in 1944 and then in a slightly modified form in Salzburg in June – July 1944, the business operations of the SS Economic Administration Main Office exhibited some of their products.

In the corresponding catalogs, five tiles with equestrian motifs (ceramics, porcelain manufacture-Allach) by Theodor Kärner are listed.

The raw tiles came from the Meissener Wandplattenwerke Saxonia GmbH, a department of the Meissen oven and porcelain factory.
